American Farmhouse Bowls come with a Lifetime Guarantee and stay in tip top shape with a little TLC. After each use wash them by hand with warm sudsy water from a mild detergent. Do not place in dishwasher. It is best to avoid letting any premium woodenware sit in water for too long - because wood is porous, water can seep in and cause cracks. After washing simply towel dry. About once a month, or more for drier climates, give your wooden chopping bowl a good rubbing of a food safe mineral oil. We recommend our Wood Bowl and Board Preserver.

The most useful and memorable gift

I have an old wooden bowl and mezzaluna that belonged to my parents in the 1940’s. I treasure it because it was used by them but also because it is an extremely useful kitchen tool. Last year, I ran across this beautiful salad bowl and mezzaluna from your company. My young grandchildren are all beginning cooks and I instantly pictured them making salads in this bowl for as many years as I have used my parents’s bowl. I just purchased my sixth bowl. Three grandchildren, my daughter in law, my daughter, and a good friend have all received a bowl with a loving inscription on it. I am in my 80’s and I hope they will think of me every time they make a salad, long after I am gone. The next one I am buying will be for me! They are so beautiful and the mezzaluna is so sharp that it’s time for me to retire my family relic and get a salad bowl that I can proudly display. This makes the perfect gift!
